Our standard 2-man delivery on heavy furniture is to most of mainland UK, but doesn’t cover the following areas:
AB, DD, DH, DG, EH, EX, G, HS, IV, KA, KH, KY, KW, LA, LL, ML, NE, PA, PH, PL, TD, TQ, SA, SR, TR, ZE.
We can still deliver to these areas but please email us at sales@thedormyhouse.com for a quotation.

Our desktop shelves were designed as the perfect partner to our modular desks. A desktop shelf adds shelving that makes something of the otherwise unused area above desktop height. And to create the ultimate storage combination, you can team our single or double desktop shelf with the storage that suits you best within the desk. Both our straight desk and modular corner desk can be made with pedestals that create the storage options you need. This could be in the form of single or double cupboards, or as pedestals with a single shelf, with a pull-out printer shelf, with drawers, or with space for hanging files. Don’t just save a desktop shelf for your home office, though. They work beautifully with both our cupboard and sideboard designs.
Our desktop shelves are made from MDF. We use this material because it’s both hard wearing and stable so your shelves will look good for many years to come and retain the elegance of their painted finish. The paint colour can be selected from our range of fabulous shades so your shelves are a perfect match to your desk or another piece of furniture on which they’re displayed. You can pick from two sizes of desktop shelf when you’re buying. Our single measures W:42cm D:28cm H:132cm, while the double desktop shelf is W:82cm D:28cm H:132cm. The shelves are flexible to suit whatever you need to store or display there, too. The bottom shelf is fixed at a height of 49cm, but the two above can be adjusted to the height you need to accommodate books and magazines, and pictures and decorative objects, along with the office essentials you want to have within easy reach of your desk.
If you want to keep documents on your desktop shelves, take a look at our selection of box files and folders. In attractive patterned finishes, they’ll ensure papers don’t compromise the look of your shelving. If your filing needs are more extensive, check out our filing cabinets, which will keep paperwork concealed as well as organised. Alternatively, our Portland filing workstation will allow you to stash both hanging and box files behind closed doors in a smart piece of furniture. Prefer a softer effect? We also offer filing ottomans that create space for hanging files hidden within storage upholstered in any fabric you select from our huge collection, or one that you supply. And if you’re currently keeping your printer on the desk, our Somersby printer table could be the perfect solution for your home work space. Specially made to accommodate the printer itself together with paper and other stationery supplies, it will leave you with more room to work at home.
