Dressing table buyer’s guide

A dressing table is a luxury that can turn your bedroom from sleep space to sanctuary. We offer designs of different dimensions to suit the proportions of your room. If you have plenty of space, take a look at our New Hampshire double pedestal dressing table. It’s W:160cm D:65cm H:76cm and, as well as space on top for all you need, it has a large cupboard pedestal with an internal adjustable shelf, plus a four drawer pedestal on the other side. You can finish it with a protective glass top if that’s your preference. With less space available, check out our single pedestal table, W:135cm. If you don’t need drawer or cupboard storage, our Tuvan two drawer and French single drawer tables are other options. The Tuvan has contemporary lines and the French table more ornate detail that’s perfect for a boudoir. For compact rooms, consider our Tuvan single drawer table. At W:79cm D:50cm H:76cm, it will provide the space you need for getting ready without impinging on the room’s floor area. Team dressing tables with a mirror and stool

Complete your dressing table with a mirror and stool. We offer a selection of stools so you can complement the lines of your dressing table, or strike a contrast with a stool with contemporary lines teamed with a more ornate dressing table design. Every dressing table needs a mirror, too, and we offer both triple mirrors and single mirrors in our collection. A triple mirror is a classic choice for the top of a dressing table, offering multiple angles that allow you to style your hair and apply make-up easily. Pick our traditional triple rectangular mirror if you’d prefer a handsome framed design. It features bevelled glass and the angle of the centre mirror is adjustable. Alternatively, opt for our retro triple mirror. This vintage style design has appealing curves but unfussy good looks. We also offer single mirrors for the top of your dressing table, including our serpentine and Swedish designs. Both can be angled as required. And if you prefer to keep the top of your dressing table free for other items, opt for the elegant wall-hung Ashford mirror.

Choosing dressing table chairs

Teaming a chair with your dressing table will make getting ready for the day or an evening out comfortable. We offer both armchairs and those without arms. If your room’s large, an armchair and dressing table pairing will sit happily in the space. The arms can also be useful to steady your hand for some tasks. When there’s less space to play with, a side chair, that is one without arms, is a more space-efficient choice, but still provides a back rest. All our armchairs and side chairs recommended for use with our dressing tables are upholstered designs to maintain the softness of a bedroom scheme. They have painted frames, allowing you to match the chair’s finish to that of the dressing table. Pick from dressing table chairs with upholstered backs and seats, or those with upholstered seats only. As ever with Dormy House designs, the choice of upholstery is entirely yours. You can select from our enormous range of fabrics, or there’s the alternative of sending in your own fabric for us to use.

Selecting dressing table stools

Using a stool in front of your dressing table is a further seating option. A dressing table stool can be tucked fully underneath the dressing table when it’s not in use, so one of these can be a sound choice for a smaller room. Our dressing table stools have padded upholstered seats so they’re comfy to sit on and they add an attractive note to the room scheme. You can choose the upholstery fabric from our fabulous collection, or send in your own fabric – we’ll let you know how much you need to supply. We offer both traditional styles, like the Swedish or French stools as well as those with cleaner lines for a contemporary look, allowing you to match your stool with the style of your dressing table. Pick from our range of stains or paint shades for the legs of your stool to individualise your room. As ever with Dormy House designs, the choice of upholstery for your dressing table stool is entirely yours. You can select from our enormous range of fabrics, or there’s the alternative of sending in your own fabric for us to use.
