Product description

A bed throw is one element that makes your bed look inviting and a worthy focal point of your room. But it also has a practical function, and its appearance can make it the best choice to ensure your bedroom delivers on comfort.

They bring timeless style and play a key role in creating a warm and cosy atmosphere, elevating your interior space. They are versatile and perfect for layering, making them an ideal choice for varying temperatures and seasonal changes.

Use a lined throw in the warmer months or choose an interlined and quilted throw as an extra layer as temperatures drop during colder months.

Our handcrafted, measured throws are made in your choice of fabric from our collection or you can send us your own.

Our quilted throws are filled with a polyester flame retardant filing inside and come with an ivory poly/cotton lining on the reverse side. They come with a simple machine-bound edge with rounded or square corners.

Eiderdown buyer’s guide

Adding an eiderdown to your bed is a brilliant way to boost both comfort and style. An eiderdown is a traditional bed covering that’s used layered on top of the rest of your bed linen, but one of these has contemporary appeal, too, creating a well-dressed bed, and allowing you to combine co-ordinating colour and pattern to make the bed an even more fantastic focal point. An eiderdown is a quilted bed dressing, so it feels and looks more generous than a throw, and it will add warmth during the cold months. An eiderdown can provide year-round chic: in the warmer weather it can be used to make a bed look stylish during the day then folded into an ottoman at night. Consider an eiderdown to make your own bedroom look more sumptuous, and boost the comfort of kids’ beds. An eiderdown is also a great solution for a guest bedroom, allowing every visitor to sleep at the temperature they prefer. When you shop for an eiderdown with us, you can pick from single, double, king and super-king sizes, so you can add one of these beauties to every bedroom.

Design ideas for eiderdowns

Our eiderdowns are hand made and filled with feather & down and are quilted on both sides making them fully reversible. They have a piped edge that adds a smart finish to the design, too. You can select the same fabric for each side of any of our eiderdowns, or you can pick two fabrics so the sides are different. Why not go for a floral one side with a more graphic print for the other so you can subtly alter the mood of your room, or try a block of colour one side with a pattern on the reverse? Making sure your two choices co-ordinate is easy as you can choose your fabrics from our extensive collection which is arranged in colour families; you’ll know your fabric choices – and your selection of piping fabric – will sit harmoniously together. Alternatively, if you’ve already found fabrics you love, you can send them in for us to use. We’ll let you know how much you need to send us, depending on whether you’re opting for plains or patterns, making things easy.

Styling your bed with an eiderdown

To dress any bed to create a great look and make your bedroom comfortable, think layers. An eiderdown can be placed over plain or patterned bed linen so long as it co-ordinates, and the quilted design of an eiderdown will make the bed look extra inviting by adding depth. You could also think about adding a throw to the end of the bed to bring in another hit of colour and/or pattern to the mix. Dressing it with a selection of cushions and bolsters will also make the bed a real centrepiece for the room. Think about mixing and matching patterns and cushion shapes for a contemporary look that speaks of casual comfort rather than formality. We also love the idea of teaming all these elements with an upholstered headboard. Its height will make the whole combination even more eye-catching, and it’s another opportunity to introduce pattern that could repeat a design from the eiderdown or throw.
