Our standard 2-man delivery on heavy furniture is to most of mainland UK, but doesn’t cover the following areas:
AB, DD, DH, DG, EH, EX, G, HS, IV, KA, KH, KY, KW, LA, LL, ML, NE, PA, PH, PL, TD, TQ, SA, SR, TR, ZE.
We can still deliver to these areas but please email us at sales@thedormyhouse.com for a quotation.

French style wardrobes add the storage you need for jackets, scarves, gloves and hats in a hallway, or items that need to be hung plus clothing that’s better folded or linens in the bedroom. Position one of these wardrobes in a guest bedroom and it allows guests to unpack their suitcases, store their clothes neatly and accessibly, and feel right at home. Our French style wardrobes each measure W:100cm D:63cm H:132cm so they can be easily fitted in many areas of your home providing truly useful storage without cluttering up floor space or dominating in a way that makes the room feel smaller. Behind the doors of our French style wardrobes are a rail with a drop of 97cm, a width of 45cm and depth of 55cm introducing generous hanging space. Alongside are three evenly spaced shelves. There’s a drawer above that’s H:8cm W:89cm D:48cm which can hold smaller items.
When you’re shopping for French wardrobes with us, you can individualise your piece of clothes storage furniture so it complements your room perfectly. We offer both pale and deeper paint shades so that you can choose between a light-reflective finish that can help make a room feel larger, or turn your French wardrobe into a focal point in a more dramatic shade. The choice of handles or knobs for the drawer and cupboard doors of a French wardrobe can also be selected from a large range so you can repeat the style and material of those on other storage furniture within your room for a pulled-together look. There’s also the option to add a glass top to one of our French wardrobes. This ensures clean-up is easy if it doubles as a make-up station in a bedroom, and protects the surface from water if you’re displaying houseplants or vases of flowers.
Many of us keep jackets in the hallway, and the hanging rail of a French style wardrobe provides all the height that’s needed for these. Keeping them tidily behind closed doors will ensure the entrance to your home stays smart. The rail is also low enough for children to reach so they can have access to their coats when you’re getting them ready to go out. In the bedroom a French style wardrobe has enough height for shirts, blouses, tops and skirts, so you could add one to boost storage if a main wardrobe is overflowing. With shelving alongside the hanging area and a drawer above, a relatively small piece of furniture can fit plenty, and it might be all you need in a small bedroom or one that’s used by visitors.
