Our standard 2-man delivery on heavy furniture is to most of mainland UK, but doesn’t cover the following areas:
AB, DD, DH, DG, EH, EX, G, HS, IV, KA, KH, KY, KW, LA, LL, ML, NE, PA, PH, PL, TD, TQ, SA, SR, TR, ZE.
We can still deliver to these areas but please email us at sales@thedormyhouse.com for a quotation.

Our design was inspired by an original French housekeeper’s cupboard, but though the design may be old, the storage offered by this cabinet is ideal for modern homes. All the storage is concealed, so the cupboard allows you to tidy away the items that you don’t want on display, or that you need to keep clean and dust-free. Internal shelves can fit anything from piles of bed or table linen, through plates and other tableware, to files, folders and document boxes, or books and games. The internal shelves are adjustable allowing you to fit them at the depth that suits what you’re storing for ultimate flexibility. We’ve included a narrow drawer in the design, too, which can accommodate smaller items so they don’t get lost and they are easy to access. The top creates space for display, so the cupboard is an even more valuable part of your room scheme. For extra protection of the surface and easy clean up, you can opt to have a glass top if you prefer.
Like all of our painted furniture our French cabinet is made from MDF. The material gives it the stability and durability that means it will look its best for many years to come. MDF is also the perfect base to which to add a coloured finish, allowing you to select from any of our attractive paint shades for your French cabinet when you order so that you can be sure it complements your room scheme and the rest of your furniture and soft furnishings. As standard the drawer and cupboard doors of this pretty cabinet are fitted with wooden knobs painted in the same shade as you select for the piece of furniture itself. You can, though, further personalise your design by choosing from our large range of handles and knobs within which you’ll discover attractive metal designs, as well as wooden ones so you can create classic or modern style.
Our French inspired Somersby cupboard is part of a larger range to make it easy to mix and match furniture in any room. For living spaces, take a look at the console table in the range, and for taller storage, we also offer the Somersby dresser. The Somersby occasional chair is equally elegant with a painted frame and upholstered seat and back. In the bedroom team the French cupboard with a bench or ottoman for the end of the bed, or one of our Somersby bedside tables.
